Analysis of DNA by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) has traditionally been conducted in labs using bulky equipment. Otago University School of Medicine prototyped a new device for conducting PCR analysis in a much smaller, portable format. While at Digital Fusion I was tasked with the UI and UX design of LiteGene, an iOS application developed as a remote interface for this device. This groundbreaking system has been featured on TV news, used to diagnose the H1N1 virus and later iterations engaged by the US Army under the name 'Ubiquitome'.
